Tourist Arrivals Peru will grow between 7% and 8%
According to Carlos Canales, Chairman of the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatur) in Peru, international tourist arrivals will grow between 7% and 8% this year.
Reason for that are the archaeological, gastronomic, natural and cultural attractions of Peru. Due to the political situation Peru failed to expand corporate tourism in the beginning of 2018.
After surmounting the political problems with the help of the new President Martin Vizcarra, the expectations with respect to the growing of tourist arrivals have risen.
However, Canales presumes that the growth rate in 2018 will not be higher than last year. In 2015, 3,455,709 tourists had visited Peru. The year after, Peru was visited by 3,744,461 tourists and last year by 4,032,339 tourists.
Tourism is the only decentralizing activity in the country that does not just create jobs but also improves the economies of cities, towns and villages.
