PPK names Fernando Zavala Prime Minister

The future President of Peru, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, has named Fernando Zavala as Peru´s next Prime Minister.

Kuczynski asserts that Zavala, as an economist, has much knowledge and experience that he can bring to the position. He is 45 years old and has served in various public offices, one of them being Economy and Finance Minister in 2005 and 2006.

It is said that Zavala has accepted this nomination and has already begun to collaborate with Kuczynski´s team.

Zavala is currently working as the CEO at Backus and Johnston S.A.A. Brewing Company. (more…)

PPK is officially President-Elect of Peru

Pedro Pablo Kuczynski was officially named President-Elect of Peru on Tuesday. The ceremony was held in Lima at the Municipal Theater, where PPK received official documentation of his victory in the presidential election.

Numerous government officials and leaders were present at the ceremony. The ceremony included the playing of Peru´s national anthem, a reading of the results of the election by the National Election Board, a presentation of documents to Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, and a speech by the President-Elect himself. Pedro Pablo Kuczynski was born on October 3, 1938 in Lima, Peru. His father was a German doctor who did missions and research along the coast of Peru.

Pedro Pablo Kuczynzki grew up living among Iquitos, Puno, Cusco, and Lima. The Kuczynski family was not well-off, so all of Pedro Pablo´s education was funded through scholarships. That being said, he managed to attend some impressive schools, including Princeton and Oxford.

He also was very interested in music as a young boy. In Switzerland and England, he took various classes in composition, piano, and flute. (more…)

Peru’s economic growth is declared to be impressive

The Ford Foundation Professor at Harvard University, Dani Rodrik. Rodrik is a professor of International Economy at the well-known institution in the United States. His particular interests reside in globalization and political economic development.

As he studied the growth trends of Peru, he declared it to be amazing that it has reached an expansion rate above 3% in the current state of the global economy.

He asserted this claim by explaining that a 3% growth rate is more than several developed countries. (more…)

Peru prioritizes long-term growth

Peru recently signed an agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development that seek long-term growth in Peru.

Alonso Segura, the Minister of Economy and Finance, is overseeing these agreements. He asserts that they will better Peru´s economy and provide more resources to all.

The agreements also work as a type of insurance for Peru as unexpected events and other risks sometimes shake the economy. Whether that be a natural disaster or an international problem, Peru will have more security. (more…)

Fujimori and Guzmán are front-runners in the polls

Keiko Fujimori and Julio Guzmán are the current front-runners of the Peruvian presidential polls. Fujimori, of the Popular Force party, leads with 34.6%, and Guzmán, of Everyone for Peru, holds 16.6%. Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, for Peruvians for Change, comes in third place with 6.9%.

The Special Electoral Board asserts that Guzman´s party, Everyone for Peru, is inadmissible. Despite these declarations, Guzmán continues his campaign with success.
