Bianca Botto, a Peruvian tennis player, is upsetting rankings as 2014 comes to a close. After winning five titles this year she earned 213th place in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking. Previously her personal best on the WTA ranking chart was 218th in 2012. Most impressive, though, is were she stood at the beginning of this year: 670th place.
Botto, a 23 year-old from Lima, achieved her greatest career success this year when she won her first Challenger title in Paraguay and a title at the Copa Alta Tennis Tournament in Chile. With these wins under her tennis racket, Botto hopes to continue improving her ranking by competing in the Australian Open qualifying series in 2015.
