Robert de Niro visits Cusco and Machu Picchu
The famous actor Robert De Niro arrived in the beautiful city of Cusco yesterday with the intention to visit the famed Inca citadel Machu Picchu De Niro arrived last Saturday on a private plane for the Peruvian Capital Lima.
The Hollywood left the airport in an SUV that took him to a hotel in the imperial city of Cusco. One of these days De Niro is expected to explore Peru’s top attraction, the Inca Citadel Machu Picchu —a must-see when visiting. Machu Picchu means “Old Mountain” in the Inca language Quechua. The city was never discovered by the Spanish conquistadors and therefore, it was never destroyed. This is one of the main reasons why it is one of the most important and well preserved Incan ruins.
De Niro had arrived in Lima a few days before, where he had dinner at the exclusive restaurant Central, and he visited the Pedro de Osma Museum located in the capital city’s traditional Barranco district.
De Niro is best known for his Oscar-winning role in The Godfather II.
Other well-known movies are “Casino”, “Taxi Driver,” “Once Upon a time in America,” and of course, “The Untouchables.”
