Pedro Pablo Kuczynski was officially named President-Elect of Peru on Tuesday. The ceremony was held in Lima at the Municipal Theater, where PPK received official documentation of his victory in the presidential election.
Numerous government officials and leaders were present at the ceremony. The ceremony included the playing of Peru´s national anthem, a reading of the results of the election by the National Election Board, a presentation of documents to Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, and a speech by the President-Elect himself.
Martin Vizcarra was declared as first vice-president elect and Mercedes Araoz was declared as second vice-president elect.
PPK is a 77 year old economist that will officially take the presidential office on July 28th of this year. In his speech, he urged unity amongst the various parties and options of Peru.
