A total of 270 Peruvian teachers received teaching scholarships to travel to Colombia and the United States to conduct specialized studies. Peru´s National Program for Scholarships and Educational Credit made this possible by granting visas to these teachers.

Colombia´s Pontifical Xavierian University will give courses to 98 of the 270 teachers. They will be trained in Intercultural Bilingual Education. The other 172 teachers will be trained in Regular Basic Education and will study in the United States at Arizona University.

These courses involve 240 teaching hours, or four weeks. The scholarships that the teachers received cover all costs: the course, transportation, plane tickets, meals, and housing.
