Peru tries to position Pisco in European Union market
Production minister of Peru, Raul Pérez-Reyes announced that Peru is looking at the European Union (EU) to become an important consumer of Pisco, the national Peruvian alcoholic drink in the following five years.
Now the Andean country is looking to expand its offer to other countries apart from the United Stated, Spain, and Chile.
“We are already working in Russia and Thailand, and our goal is to enter the European Union (market),” Perez-Reyes commented. And he added that “in the next five years, we want to be well positioned in this market, and see it (the EU) as our main trade partner”
The Minister mentioned that they are working along with the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) to achieve this goal and that the Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) is helping as well.
