Mistura Food Festival in Lima, Peru, became since its first edition in 2008 Latin America’s largest gastronomic fair.
The fair planning committee expects that more than 30 000 foreigners will visit Peru in September to attend the fair this year.
According to the head of Mistura’s Tourism Committee, Manuel del Solar, the majority of these visitors from abroad will attend for professional reasons, such as professional chefs, food journalists, researchers and culinary students. Also representatives from various international companies have confirmed their visit.
Culinary students from other Latin American countries will not only participate in this food festival, they will as well assist at its international congress of gastronomy. According to Manuel del Solar, they are strongly interested in the Peruvian products, as well in visiting the stands of Peru’s significant eateries and markets.
This 7th edition of the fair will take place from September the 5th until September the 14th.
In 2013, Mistura attracted more than 350 000 people, this year they expect to break the record with more than a half million visitors.
