Peru´s Minister of Education, Jaime Saavedra, made a trip to Brazil to gather information and experience for the hosting of the 2019 Pan American Games.
Saavedra met with officials to discuss the big job of hosting the Olympic Games in hopes to apply their knowledge to the upcoming Pan American Games in Lima.
Furthermore, he met with Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Paes and International Paralympic Committee Chairman Xavier Gonzales for specific tips.
In addition, Saavedra visited the various structures built for the Olympics: the Stadium, Olympic Arena, and the Village to assess the infrastructure.
Saavedra also had the opportunity to meet and congratulate one of Peru´s Olympic athletes, Luis Sandoval, who ran in the men´s 1,500 meter race.
The visit to Brazil was a helpful one as Peru makes plans to host the Pan American Games in a few years.
