Today the Mistura Gastronomic Fair 2014 will be officially opened. A special ceremony will be held at the fairgrounds in Costa Verde, district of Magdalena. The inaugural event will take place in the Grand Auditorium and, just like in previous editions, the presence of the President, Ollanta Humala, first lady Nadine Heredia and other authorities are expected.
The Peruvian Society of Gastronomy (Apega), organizer of the show, is confident that this new edition will be beyond all expectations. The fair is expecting up to 600,000 visitors. Also more than 500 journalists (domestic and foreign) will attend the event. This year Mistura offers 192 establishments divided into 12 ‘worlds’, and 40 participants in free areas. Foods to enjoy are for instance the Kiwitrucha and a Crispy cuy from restaurant Valens. Also a medallion with Cocona cream of La Mishquina, and a Japanese okonomiyaki Pizza, quinoa burgers, maca punches and more. There will also be exclusive beers, wines and pisco.
What promises to be one of the biggest attractions is the ‘Big Market’. Here you will find products like pajuro, lupine, quinoa and native potatoes. These products will be prepared by renowned chefs such as Gastón Acurio, Hector Solis, Adolfo Perret, José Castillo, Flavio Solórzano, and others.
Mistura runs till September 14. On Monday till Wednesday the tickets will be 15 soles for adults and 8 soles for kids. The price of the dishes will be between 13 and 16 soles.
