Mancora: Best Southamerican Beach 2016
The World Travel Awards Declares Máncora to be South America´s Leading Beach Destination for 2016.
Each year, the World Travel Awards chooses the best beach in South America. This year´s award was given to Peru´s Máncora!
In previous years, the award has been given to San Andrés, Colombia; Mar del Plata, Argentina; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This year´s nominees for best beach destination were Easter Island, Chile; Fernando de Noronha, Brazil; Galapagos Islands, Ecuador; Mar del Plata, Argentina; Margarita Island, Venezuela; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and San Andrés, Colombia.
Máncora is a popular beach town in the north of Peru. It is located in the Piura Region and is known for its beautiful turquoise beaches and good surfing.
There are many activities to do in Máncora: sun bathing, surfing, kite surfing, snorkeling, whale and dolphin watching, yoga, relaxing at the spa, going to the gym, etc. No matter what activity you choose, you can be sure that you will enjoy the hot sun and the relaxing atmosphere.
To get to Máncora, most people fly into Lima and take a bus from there. It is also possible to fly to another city nearby Máncora and avoid a long bus ride. As it is located right along the Pan American Highway, Máncora has lots of restaurants and hotels to choose from.
