Must of us know Dora The Explorer from Nickelodeon. Now, Dora has embarked to a new adventure! Dora The Explorer will have a movie inspired by the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu. The film will be based on the Inca culture and will be released in August 2019 in the United States. This has been announced the Peruvian Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru).
A NorthAmerican actress with Peruvian roots will play Dora: Isabela Moner. To play Dora, the actress had to learn Quechua, the most spoken indigenous language of Peru, still spoken by many inhabitants.
During an interview, Moner expressed that the Peruvian community is going to be very content with the movie. Machu Picchu will be the place where Dora’s adventures will take place, and it will attract a lot of people who want to explore the Inca culture. Dora loves to learn new things, and she is very curious; that’s why she had to learn Quechua. The actress says she never hesitated to take the role or to learn the language because she is proud of her Peruvian roots.
Furthermore, Moner wants a premiere of the movie in Peru. She is trying to talk with the director about having a premiere in the country. If it’s not possible, she will just come over to Peru when the movie premieres so she can make it more important.
The movie will show a lot about Peru’s cultural and historical richness at an international level. Never had Nickelodeon a live-action version of a Nickelodeon animated TV series, so this will make it even more special.
It is not the first time that Peru is used in a foreign film. But this time it will be different because this movie will be one to watch with the whole family.
