On Sunday, thousands of Peruvians cast their votes to determine the next President, Vice-Presidents, Congressmen, and Andean Parliament representatives.
After examining the votes, it has been said that Keiko Fujimori and Pedro Pablo Kuczynski are in the lead. Fujimori is leading with approximately 39.46% and PPK follows with 23.73%. Because Fujimori didn´t win the required 50% this past round, these top two candidates will participate in the second round elections in June.
Other candidates are placed as follows: Veronika Mendoza with 17.12%, Alfredo Barnechea with 7.54%, and Alan Garcia with 6.08%.
Out of the Peruvians that were eligible to vote, 84.60% participated in the election. After all of these votes are counted, the second round will be determined and set for June.
