Foreign arrivals in the first nine months of 2015 grew by 7.8% from the same period last year, which generates a positive tourist flow of 185,967 visitors. These visitors, coming primarily from Chile, Ecuador, the United States, Colombia, Costa Rica, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Spain and France lead the growth advancing 10% as a group, and outpacing the total growth rate for the first nine months of the year. Visitors from these 10 countries account for 76% of total international arrivals.

This growth has been made possible by recent efforts to promote inter-regional tourism such as the “Peru, Land of Hidden Treasures” — a campaign aimed at end consumers in countries of the bloc — and by strategic alliances with airlines and tourist operators in such markets.

Peru also maintains a dual working strategy with the United States aimed at end consumers through the advertising campaign “Peru Land of Hidden Treasures”, and an expansion strategy in the commercial chain, where the work with Virtuoso network and associations like Ustoa (USA Tour Operator Association) is noteworthy.
