Air Canada will offer daily direct flights between Peru and Canada
During high season, from June 27 to September 28, Air Canada will offer daily flights from Toronto to the Peruvian capital Lima. Furthermore, two weekly return flights from Lima to Montreal will depart and additional flights from Lima to Toronto.
The additional route will transport the increased number of passengers traveling between Peru and Canada during summer season. Air Canada Sales Manager Patricia Lucar states that these flights have advantages for the corporate market as they may lead to the development of investment ties between Peru and Canada, especially in the mining sector.
According to Maria Soledad Acosta, Tourism Director of the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru), Canada accounts for one of Peru’s priority markets as the number of Canadians visiting Peru increased by 23% over the past five years.
Peru is not just a multicultural, but also a biodiverse country providing a coast of more than 2,000 km, mountains being more than 6,000 meters high, deserts with sand dunes and a large Amazon area. Apart from that, Peru is a one of the best destinations for adventure sports.
