The Carnival of Tupaykanakuy took place on Saturday, March 16. Tupaykanakuy is a meeting of families: in total, about 400 000, from Apurimac, Ayacucho, Arequipa, Cusco, Iquitos, Ucayali and Huancavelica participate in the event.

The party of carnivals is still very lively in the towns of different provinces of Peru. This Tupaykanakuy event took place in the San Jeronimo district, located in the Apurimac region. (more…)

Must of us know Dora The Explorer from Nickelodeon. Now, Dora has embarked to a new adventure! Dora The Explorer will have a movie inspired by the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu. The film will be based on the Inca culture and will be released in August 2019 in the United States. This has been announced the Peruvian Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru).

Paracas: Biggest cruise in history

The Peruvian peninsula of Paracas, welcomed ¨The Royal Princess¨ last Monday at San Martin Port. This cruise ship is the biggest in the metropolis’ history. This cruise ship can carry 3,900 passengers and is 330 m in length.

Improved security in Machu Picchu and Inca Trail

The local government in Cusco wants to improve the security in Machu Picchu and during the Inca Trail and will invest in security cameras. Thanks to an agreement between The Ministries of Culture and Environment, Service of Natural Protected Areas, Machu Picchu Municipality and Peru’s National Police it is possible to do this.

The first step in improving security is the installation of cameras along the Inca Trail. Several cameras will be places on critical places, and at the starting point and the end of the trail. (more…)
