Peru Ranks 3rd in Region for English Skills

As business and trade expand among South American countries and foreign, English-speaking countries, the importance of speaking English at a professional level continues to rise dramatically.

Armando Cavero of El Comercio says that two of the requirements for a top executive are to have an MBA and secondly, speak fluent English.

According to a recent survey by Education First, Peru places third in the Latin American region. (more…)

World Congress of World Heritage Sites in Arequipa

From November 2 to November 6th the 13th World Congress of the Organization of Word Heritage Cities, the OWHC, took place in the beautiful city of Arequipa in Southern Peru.

After four days of lectures and presentations by specialists in conversation and others, the Congress concluded with 180 representativees from 55 countries declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

Free Admission to the Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum November 8th

As El Niño nears and concerns continue to rise for the integrity of various archaeological sites, the desire to visit historical heritage before it’s too late has new urgency. In accordance with this increased interest and the 13th anniversary celebration of the the most important museum in the Peru’s archaeology-rich region, Lambayeque, will be offering free admission to some of their exhibits, including Señor de Sipan’s grave on November 8th.

Peruvian Gymnast makes History in Scotland

Big news for peru: for the first time in history, a Peruvian gymnast will advvance to the Qualifying Olympic tournament for Rio 2016. Ariana Orrego, the qualifying athlete achieved her ranking after competing in Scotland in the World Championships.

Member of the National Gymnastics team, the athlete thoroughly impressed the judges with her exceptional performance in Glasgow. Orrego earned a score of 52.165 in the event of uneven bars – also become the first Peruvian to win this qualifying achievement. (more…)

Restaurants partner with Action Against Hunger to fight Malnutrition in Peru

A new campaign, “Restaurants Against Hunger,” is taking place in Lima in October and November with the objective to fight child malnutrition in Peru. This crusade, in which more than 200 participating restaurants will be selling “solidarity dishes” that will contribute to the different Peruvian projects of Action Against Hunger – a foundation that provides food, fresh water, and economic self-sufficiency in the Americas.
