The El Brujo complex was one of the most important religious and political centers of the Moche culture in ancient Peru. Famous for its colorful painted walls, this archaeological site offers to the visitors one of the best exhibitions of mural art of this culture. The site includes various ancient pyramids or so called "huacas" built by the Moche culture and later extended by the Cupisnique culture. It was here, archaeologist made the impressive discovery of a female mummy, named "Lady Cao", the first known governess in Peru.
Pick-up in Trujillo and start of the tour. We first visit the settlement of the Lady Cao. Afterwards we make a stop at a traditional café and have the option to try the local Chicha drink and look at the handicrafts. Later, we visit the Pyramid of the Lady Cao as well as the Museum, where the original mummy is exhibited. Before we return to Trujillo, the tour visits the archaeological complex of El Brujo.
Departs: at around 10:30am for morning tour and 2:30pm for afternoon tour at your accommodation or other central place in the city centre of Trujillo.
Returns: at around 2:20pm for morning tour and 6:45pm for the afternoon tour at your accommodation or other central place in the city centre of Trujillo.
