For those who would like to add some cultural experience to their visit in Mancora, there are some nice tours around the city of Piura. This city tour of Piura visits the Plaza de Armas with its historic buildings as well as the so called "Sala Arqueología", a hall dedicated to the culture of the region like the Vicús culture. The tour also includes a visit to the Museum Grau, located in an ancient mansion of the 17th century where we can see the original furnishings and learn about the life of Admiral Grau.
Later we stop to see valuable archaeological exhibits of ceramics by the Vicús culture, as well as canvases and oil paintings by local artists in the municipal museum. Afterwards, we continue our tour to Catacaos, where we can observe regional artisans in a demonstration of their art in the local potter's house. The city tour continues to the Narihualá, with the local museum and the archaeological ruins. At our last stop, the Calle Comercio, you can see fine local handicraft made of wood, clay, leather, gold and silver.
