Pick up from the hotel or the airport in Iquitos in the morning and transfer to a town called Nauta with our private car. The ride lasts for about 2 hours. After arrival in Nauta, we will go on the boats that will take us to our lodge, which is about 2.5 hours upstream the Maranon, Amazon, Ucayali and Yarapa rivers. After that, we will discover flora and fauna in the primary forest for approximately two hours. After having lunch, we will visit a typical Amazon village and go on the Ucayali river to watch dolphins. After dinner, we will do canoe trip to spot different nocturnal animals. We will spend the night in the Lodge.
On the second day, we will start with a walk through the jungle to see a variety of monkeys, insects, spiders, in their natural habitat. After breakfast at the lodge, we will take the boat to see different birds like parrots, Jacanas, kingfishers, herons, partridges, doves, and komungos. We continue our wildlife tour to a place where you can see the Perezoso bears and varieties of monkeys, squirrels, iguanas, and butterflies. After lunch, we will do a hike in the jungle where the guide will explain us about medicinal plants and different trees while learning about the art of survival using the elements of the Amazon jungle. At night, there will be hiking excursions and by boat to observe the wildlife in the forest while listening to the rainforest sounds.
We wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise in the heart of the jungle. We continue by canoe or motorboat on the Yarapa river to see more varieties of birds like the Hoatzin, the Large Forest Tinamous, the undulated tianamou or the Scarlet Macaw. After breakfast, we set out to do traditional fishing for piranhas and other species such as catfish and sardines. After the lunch at our lodge, we head out for a night of camping in the jungle. The rest of the day we spend exploring the area and observing wildlife like alligators and monkeys.
We will start with breakfast at the campsite and then return to the lodge navigating along small lakes and rivers of the Amazon rainforest. Along the way, we will see some other species like the Victoria Regia and Orchids. After lunch, we will first return to the city of Nauta to continue to the city of Iquitos.
