Mountain Biking 2D/1N: Why Go

Huaraz is situated between the mountain ranges Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra in the north-west of Peru and has an altitude of 3052 meters. After the 1970 earthquake, the city was rebuilt in American style. The streets are wide with concrete block boxes. That might not sound very charming, but Huaraz is definitely worth it! The city is an important starting point for trekking and adventure tours in the region. The town is perfect for the climbers, there are many climbing shops and many fellow hikers. Also, Huaraz is very well known for the Huarascán mountain, which is the highest mountain in the tropics at an altitude of 6,768 meters.

Itinerary

Pick-up at around 7:00AM from your hotel. During the mountain bike ride, you can enjoy the Cordillera Blanca and the typical villages around Huaraz. We will spend the night in the village of Chacas. The next morning at 8:00AM, after breakfast, we will mountain bike to Carhuaz. From there we will return to the city of Huaraz.
