The Inca Jungle Trek is the perfect alternative route to Machu Picchu for travelers seeking adventure, variety, and adrenaline. Unlike the Classic Inca Trail, this route combines mountain biking, hiking through cloud forest, optional rafting and zip lining, and relaxing hot springs.
Starting high in the Andes at Abra Málaga, you descend by mountain bike through dramatic landscapes into the lush jungle. Along the way, you walk ancient paths, pass coffee, coca, cacao and fruit plantations, and experience rural Andean life. Prepare to see parrots, humming birds, maybe wild cats and try different local, tropical fruits.
The Inca Jungle trek is ideal for active travelers who want more than just hiking. This adventure offers a dynamic mix of adventure sports and cultural discovery, ending with a guided visit to Machu Picchu.
During four days, you experience changing landscapes from high mountain passes to subtropical jungle. The first day includes an exciting downhill biking section from Abra Málaga.
The hiking sections are moderate to challenging but generally less physically demanding than the Classic 4 Day Inca Trail. Nights are spent in basic lodges or hostels in small towns such as Santa Teresa and Aguas Calientes.
On the final day, you visit the impressive Inca citadel Machu Picchu. The type of circuit depends on ticket availability. In some cases, specific circuits require a private guide, which may involve an additional cost.
The Inca Jungle Trek does not require an Inca Trail permit. However, an official Machu Picchu entrance ticket is mandatory (included). Circuit availability depends on the season and booking time.
We strongly recommend booking early to secure your preferred circuit. Train schedules and entrance times are coordinated carefully to ensure a smooth experience.
Optional activities such as rafting and zipline can be added for an additional charge making this a once in a life-time adventure.

When we came to your agency, it was for info on Salkantay trail. My wife and me are bilingual (French & English). We talked to Joseph a guy who speaks Spanish and French.
