Laguna de Humantay or Humantay lake is a jewel of nature; a perfect place for an amazing day trip, discovering hidden places. The "Humantay Lagoon" is turquoise due to the mineral found in the bottom; it is fed by the glaciers of the mountain.

Itinerary Humantay Lake Tour
Pick-up at your hotel at around 04.00 am. We leave Cusco for the Lake Humantay Tour at 04.20 am with our own private transportation and head to Mollepata, where we have breakfast.
After breakfast, it is a drive of one more hour to the starting point of the Lake Humantay Tour. We first reach Soraypampa, located at 3900 meters above sea-level. Welcome to the real Peruvian Andes!
Provided good weather conditions, you will have the best view of two impressive mountains, the Humantay (5900m) and the Salkantay (6215m). After taking some pictures, we will start the hike to Lake Humantay (two hours up hill).
During the hike to lake Humantay, you can enjoy the impressive views of the Andes the entire time. The hike is gradually uphill until reaching the Humantay valley and our final destination, the Humantay Lake at 4300 meters above sea-level. You will have plenty of time to rest and take pictures.
We descent the same way to the starting point. It is about one hour downhill. We take our bus to Mollepata for our lunch and will be back in Cusco centre around 6.30 pm. This is the end of the Lake Humantay Tour.
