Description

Humantay Lake Tour

If you enjoy nature, adventure and hiking, then this tour in Peru is perfect for you. This trip leaves from Cusco and it takes you to a lake with turquoise blue water at the beginning of the famous Salkantay trek.

Laguna de Humantay is a jewel of nature and the perfect place to go hiking and discover hidden places. As this tour is relatively unknown, you will be able to enjoy nature to its fullest, completely off the beaten track!

Itinerary

Pick-up at your hotel at around 04.00 am. We leave Cusco at 04.20 am with our own private transportation and head to the north of the city to get to Mollepata, where we have breakfast.

After breakfast, it is a drive of one more hour to the starting point. We reach Soraypampa, located at 3900 meters above sea-level. Welcome to the real Peruvian Andes!

Provided good weather conditions, you will have the best view of two big mountains, the Humantay (5900m) and the Salkantay (6215m). After taking some pictures, we will start the hike for two hours up hill.

During the hike, you can enjoy the impressive views of the Andes the entire time. The hike is gradually uphill until reaching the Humantay valley and our final destination, the Humantay lake at 4300 meters above sea-level. You will have plenty of time to rest and take pictures.

We descent the same way to the starting point. It is about one hour downhill. We take our bus to Mollepata for our lunch and will be back in Cusco centre around 6.30 pm.

Departs: Between 04:00 - 04:20 am from your hotel or other place in the city center
Returns: Around 06:30 - 07:30 pm
