The Ananiso Canyon is one of the most spectacular canyons in the area of Cusco. This wonderful landscape was created over millions of years ago through natural forces!

The canyon is located 124km to the south of Cusco on an altitude of 4200, above sea level.
The canyon has a length of 3km and a depth of 150m. Inside this amazing natural valley, we can marvel at an impressive flora and fauna. This is a must-see for all nature lovers! The Ananiso Canyon is now offered as a one day tour from Cusco.


Itinerary

Pick-up is at your hotel in Cusco around 04.00 am.
Inour private transpot, we head to the south of the city into the Southern Valley. We pass the beautiful valleys, rivers, mountains and the cities of Urcos, Quiquijana and Cusipata.

In Pitumarca, at 3600 meters above sea-level we make a stop to have breakfast.
After breakfast, we reach the starting point of the Ananiso Canyon Trek. On the way, we can observe the Ausangate valley and river. We reach the first viewpoint of the canyon and continue to the Ananiso community (4400 meters above sea level).

We start hiking through the impressive canyon. Walking along a narrow road for about one hour and a half, we reach the waterfalls. On the way back we visit some cave paintings that are thousands of year old.

Lunch will be back at the Ananiso community. We take our bus and will be back in Cusco centre around 6.30 pm.

Departs: Between 04:00 - 04:20 am from your hotel or other place in the city center of Cusco
Returns: Around 06:30 - 07:30 pm
