The remote area of Chachapoyas in the north of Peru is surrounded by high mountains with rainforests and is only accessible via a spectacular route along rugged landscapes with mountain passes and valleys.
The summit of the Canyon del Sonche is on 2,620 meters above sea level and the canyon has a length of approximately 11 kilometres ending at the Utcubamba River. This canyon is deep enough to impress any traveller in search of hidden places, since it is not so crowded and you will enjoy the landscapes without being surrounded by many groups of other tourists.
We begin our trip visiting the very colourful town of Huancas. Here, we visit the Huanca Urco Canyon where you can see the Gocta waterfall and the Utcubamba river. We continue our trip with a visit to the Sonche Canyon where we will be able to enjoy the beauty of the Sonche River and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. Here you have the opportunity to buy local souvenirs. Afterwards we return to Chachapoyas, where we will have lunch (included).
