Inti Raymi: el festival más grande de Peru

Por qué Inti Raymi es el Festival más grande de Peru? El mes de Junio es probablemente el mes más colorido en la ciudad de Cusco, está lleno de eventos y actividades. El día más importante es el 24 por el festival Inti Raymi.

El Inti Raymi es una fiesta inca, que traducida al español significa la fiesta del Sol. Se celebra en todo el territorio del antiguo imperio inca, que comprendía Ecuador, Bolivia, Perú y Argentina. Pero claro el más grande se realizaba en el Cusco, la capital del Imperio Inca.

El Inti Raymi era una ceremonia religiosa en la cual se rendía homenaje al dios Sol en la época del solsticio de invierno. Se dice que en la ceremonia se contaban leyendas sobre el origen de los incas. Duraba nueve días en los cuales había muchas danzas y procesiones, así como sacrificios de animales para dar gracias a los dioses y para asegurar una buena cosecha. (more…)

Waarom Inti Raymi het grootste festival van Peru is

Juni is waarschijnlijk de kleurrijkste maand voor de stad Cusco, hoog in het Peruaanse Andesgebergte, vol met evenementen en activiteiten. De belangrijkste dag, 24 juni, komt er al snel weer aan: het is de dag van Inti Raymi.

Inti Raymi is een traditioneel Inca festival en betekent letterlijk: het Festival van de Zon (inti= zon in het Quechua). Het wordt gevierd in alle dorpjes in het gehele oude Inca rijk, in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia en Argentinië. Maar het grootste evenement vindt plaats in Cusco, de voormalige hoofdstad van het Inca rijk.

Inti Raymi was een religieuze ceremonie om de zonnegod Inti te eren in de winter tijdens de zonnestilstand. De ceremonie zou ook verhalen vertellen over de mythische oorsprong van de Incas. De ceremonie duurde 9 dagen en was gevuld met kleurrijke dansen en processies, maar ook het offeren van dieren om zo de goden te bedanken en een goede oogst te verzekeren.
