When is Christmas celebrated in Peru?

Like in many other countries, Christmas is also celebrated in Cusco on 24th and 25th of December. It is a very special time of the year to spend time with family and have a special Christmas dinner together. A great variety of dishes can be found during Christmas time in Peru, depending on the family and the region. Most families in Cusco gather on Christmas Eve to celebrate a big meal together, exchange gifts, and put baby Jesus in their Nativity Scenes at midnight on the 24th.
 

What are the typical Peruvian Christmas dishes?

You may be wondering what typical dishes the people of Cusco eat during Christmas…
Prepare yourself to try the classical stuffed turkey, lechón (roast pig), roast beef (asado de res), baked guinea pig and much more. Highlights of Inca Jungle Trek to Machu Picchu

Anna is a Spanish student at AMAUTA Peru and participated in the Spanish & Excursion Program AMAUTA offers in partnership with Dos Manos Peru Travel.

Anna is 31 years old and works in Berlin. Part of her program was the Inca jungle Trek, a 4 day trek through the Peruvian wilderness to the Inca Citadel Machu Picchu.

In this blog, she shares her experiences and recommendations for people who want to combine jungle, adventure and adrenaline activities in Peru. Here a day-to -day report and the highlights of this great hike to Machu Picchu.
