Huaraz is the capital of the Ancash region, about 450 km north of Lima. Chiclayo is the principal city of the Lambayeque region in northern Peru. Other nicknames for Chiclayo include "The Capital of Friendship" and the "Pearl of the North". The city was founded near an important prehistoric archaeological sites (Tombs of Lord Sipan) which constitute remains of the Wari Empire.

Máncora is a town and beach resort in the Piura Region, in northwestern Peru. The Pan-American Highway serves as Máncora's main street. The area is known for its turquoise beaches and good waves, making it a surfing destination. It has a large proportion of restaurants and nightclubs for such a small town of 10,000.
