| | | Urubamba is a small, quiet town in the Sacred Valley, about 80 km from Cusco (an hour bus drive). | | | | | | Agricultural, administrative, religious, military and social complex which the Spaniards called "Fortaleza". You can find at 97 km. from Cusco. Superb Inca fortress made of megalithic stones where Manco Inca confronted Hernando Pizarro. | | | | | | Located at 3700 meters above sea level, and 28 km. from Cusco on the way to Urubamba. The population lives in dwellings whose foundations and stone walls come from pre-Hispanic constructions,
with colonial and modern additions. | | | | | | Amauta Spanish School in Urubamba: The current school building is divided into a sleeping and a study/teaching area and has a lovely, sunny garden with fruit trees. The building is outside Urubamba, surrounded by snow peaked mountains and tipical houses. There is a large common room with a fireplace. | | | | | | Sacred Valley is one of the most impressive, rich and spiritual places on earth where ancient cultures combine with breathtaking scenery. | | |
